Your Spiritual Connection, Part 3

Blessing Others

c - Copy 2This is the final piece of my three-part presentation on developing and keeping our spiritual connection. As spiritual beings having a human experience, we should be mindful to care for this oh-so-important aspect of our beings.

“You reap what you sow.” How many times have we heard that? It refers to the law of karma. When we are expressing anger, angry events tend to happen. When we stay in a loving place, loving experiences are more likely to show up. In Part 2 of this series on developing more self-awareness around our actions and attitudes, I stated it’s important to be conscious regarding our thoughts.

This month’s recommendation to enhance your spiritual connection is:

Make it a practice to bless others!

We can create a wonderful stream of energy by blessing strangers, family, friends and coworkers. Every thought is a prayer of sorts, and I, personally, would rather be praying for the good of others.

Wikipedia says:    A blessing (also used to refer to bestowing of such) is the infusion of something with holiness, spiritual redemption, divine will, or one’s hope or approval.

Many years ago, I was a member of Unity Church in Houston and we were visited by the great, beloved, spiritual teacher, Eric Butterworth. He suggested that we try saying (silently) to each person we encountered, “I behold the Christ in you.” I found it to be powerful and often got smiles from strangers on the street when I remembered to think those words as I passed by. People may not be mind readers, but they can certainly “get it” at some level that you wish the best for them. I also believe that we keep a “carbon copy” in our minds of whatever we send out.

If the blessing mentioned doesn’t work for you, you can create your own blessing for friends, family, strangers and co-workers. Also, here are a few suggestions:

May the Lord (or Lady) bless and keep you.

Wishing for you all the love in the Universe.

May you prosper and live in peace.

I behold your beauty within.

May the Goddess hold you in Her Hands.

Have fun with this, folks. You will most likely be surprised to experience people’s response to your silently-uttered blessings. Please let me know how it works for you. Dr.Robin@CompassionateClearing.com

An old Irish blessing from me to you:

May love and laughter light your days
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all of life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours.

Love and many blessings to you,
