Many Changes

I’m glad to see the backside of 2020, and I imagine you are, too. It’s time to look back with gratitude on the spiritual/emotional transformation we have attained, and then look forward to the new year and anticipate the transformation in consciousness it can bring.

Last year seemed to engender a lot of desires for internal change, manifested externally in our surroundings and, possibly in our bodies. My guess is that you may have begun to think in terms of changes to your living space. I’ve got some useful suggestions for you.

New Energy for your Home

(Three ideas)

  1. Salt bowls
    Some people resist saging their homes due to the smoke involved. That’s okay, because you can clear stagnant energy with salt. Any kind of salt will do, but commercial salt like Morton’s has been chemically altered. I only use that to wash my clothes. I would suggest some good, clean salt. Pour it into a bowl and set it out where it won’t get knocked over. You may add some juniper/cedar berries or tiny branches, washed clean of pollen, to the salt or some essential oils (conifers are good – cedar, fir, spruce). It’s kind of like adding baking soda to your fridge to clean up odors. Stir it from time to time and when you sense that it is spent, pour it out in the trash or somewhere like cracks in the driveway to prevent weeds,
  2. Painting
    If you have decided to paint a wall or two, try this. Prior to painting, paint or pencil in the attributes on the wall that you want in the house. i.e. love, laughter, kindness, prosperity, good will to all, peace, nurturing, sweet kisses, etc. Do it with intention. Then, paint over it in the usual manner. Words have power, and though you will no longer see them, they will still exude that power. Also, order low VOC paint, that will do less toxic outgassing. It’s more expensive, but you health is worth it.
  3. Furniture and Objects:
    The artwork, furniture, and mementos in your home all hold energy, good or not so good. Are there any you’re keeping out of guilt or obligation? Place your hand on the ones you’re not sure about, and tune in to how your body feels. If you feel good, keep it. If your energy plummets, let it go.

Real Awakenings Tend to be Messy

You have seen the movie. First, there is the painful drama: Awful, abusive father and/or ditched by creepy lover and/or loses job.

The protagonist is struggling and miserable, and then experiences her or his quantum shift in mere weeks.

Something fortuitous happens and she wakes up. She is suddenly able to make peace with her father, or ditch the creep and meet a new, fabulous partner, or find the perfect job. Then, she sips a cup of coffee and looks back at the crossroads that brought her this new wonderful life.

It’s a miracle. All her dreams come true. We walk out of the theater with a smile on our lips and possibly a wonderful new song in our heads that will hit the top of the charts.

But real awakenings and transformations are not graceful. There is no music or shortcut to the next level of an upgraded consciousness.

Often, transformations are raw, messy and painful until we pass through our old life to be happy, at peace, or in love with the “right” person.

Sometimes, we cry. We muddle through confusion and self-doubt and trauma. Sometimes, we go two steps forward and one step back. Bad dreams from the past may reemerge. Formerly healed body stuff resurfaces. The process of awakening can mean feeling overwhelmed by our past. Old, forgotten wounds can be ripped open. We feel exposed.

We are forced to get real and be honest with ourselves. We are compelled to step up a level. We change because it is too painful to stay as we are.

Transformation doesn’t come to everyone. There must be some opening; some willingness to change and grow. Sometimes, it comes when we just don’t think we can stand our lives a minute longer. It comes when we stop making excuses. It comes when we stop lying to ourselves that we are comfortable when we are not.

Then, without notice we suddenly begin to feel liberated. Something releases and we get a fresh perspective. Something within us surrenders and we feel free. Oh, glorious transformation! That time is incredible, as we just let go and die to the old self. The new us emerges victorious.

This year, we will all be offered many opportunities for transformation.  I shudder with dread and with expectation all rolled into one.

Use World Chaos for your Benefit

Recently, my astrologer explained that we are in an unusual time calling for intense transformation and a falling of the old that no longer works so that the new can emerge. What is familiar and knowable must be discarded for our vision and dreams of the future to manifest. Our past is coming up to be healed. This intense time will last about another year.

Here I was, thinking the problem was just with our government officials. Seems there is much more going on. So now that you know, what measures do you need to assist your own transformation and, at the same time protect yourself from all the chaos?

First of all, stay aware of the fact that we as individuals, we as families and we as nations are all currently struggling with something, either consciously or unconsciously. That knowledge helps me summon my compassion for others when I am feeling uncharitable.

Second, hold fast to your dreams. We are in a good place to manifest them even with all the chaos going on. Write down your visions and dreams. Think about them often.

Third, stay aware that our past is coming up (in another form) to help us heal those old wounds. When something or someone in our path becomes obnoxious, painful, and/or unacceptable, the most power is found when we take time to recognize how this resonates with some unpleasant part of our past. We can create time to work on all of that. I know – who wants to work on healing old wounds? However, I believe it to be an excellent opportunity for not having to deal with it later in this lifetime or the next.

Fourth, take action. I have many articles regarding self-help and self-healing on my website. When you go to Articles on the front page, go to the EFT section and click on Self Love.
